Declarations

THE POWER OF DECLARATIONS

Nothing happens in the kingdom without first a declaration.

1. God Himself gives life to the dead and creates things out of nothing by declaring (Romans 4:17). He does it in creation: we see Him in genesis 1 declaring " let there be" light and then calling things by their name. God also unlocks prophetic destiny by calling out who people really are before we can even see any evidence of it in their lives (Apple tree illustration). For example, God calls Gideon "a mighty man of valour, who will save Israel" when Gideon feels and looks weak... (See Abraham, Moses, Peter...)

2. Jesus himself is the ultimate declaration of God's goodness and love; He is the word of God, who became flesh and dwelt among us (John1). And Jesus' declarations brought he kingdom,  His words are full of the Spirit and life! (John 6:63). So when Jesus speaks "peace and be still", the storm is calmed; when He declares "be healed of your disease", the sick are healed etc.

3. We are called to be His mouthpiece so we need to realise that our tongues have power. Prov 18:21 says that the tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eats its fruit!

How does it work? We need to listen to our words because "out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45; Mat 12:34). We are God's vessel as we are filling up our cup with His joy and peace, we will overflow with Hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom15:13). So we need to speak out His truth, get rid of the lies that entangle us; His words will transform us from inside and hope and life will overflow to others.

4. Declarations are transformation tools to renew our minds and demolishing stronghold.
Romans 10:18 says that faith comes by hearing through the word of Christ. So we take every lie, every thought that is above God's truth and take it captive to line up with God's assessment (2 Cor 10:4-5). If you feel weak or are weak, you take Joel 3:10 and declare that you are strong with Christ in you. You are not denying your experience but you are not agreeing with it. You decide to agree with God's word and not your past. You prophesy to yourself in order to believe because Faith comes by hearing.
Note: Intimacy is the key, in John 15: those who love God and follow His commandments are called friends and can ask and be given in His name! We need to remember that God commissions and God does the miraculous (example of Ezechiel 37:4), we do the believing and partnering by obeying and declaring...
